FUTURIST MUTOSCOPE

A mutoscope is a late nineteenth century invention that is best described as a flipbook bound like a Rolodex. As one turns its circular core, cards within the mutoscope rapidly flip and create the sense of motion. The Futurist Mutoscope is based on the desire of the Futurists to create motion within photography in the early twentieth century.
